The Pozez JCC (the J) is dedicated to building a strong and vibrant community through meaningful opportunities to engage in Jewish life. We serve as a gateway to Jewish connection for the 121,000+ Jews who call Northern Virginia their home while welcoming individuals of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, faiths, and backgrounds. We offer quality cultural, educational, and wellness programs through indoor and outdoor activities that span five counties. Our online presence is limitless – reaching deep into our community and beyond. Vision: Guided by Jewish values, the Pozez JCC will spark, foster, and build Jewish Connection, Community, and Peoplehood throughout Northern Virginia by creating outstanding opportunities for every individual to explore the boundless potential of Jewish life. Understanding that our community is widely scattered, we will meet people where they are both within and beyond the walls of the J. Mission: To build Jewish connection, community, and peoplehood through meaningful opportunities for every individual to explore the boundless potential of Jewish life. Horizon Day Camp: Bringing the joys of childhood back to kids with cancer and their siblings, the Pozez JCC runs an exciting summer camp for these families that is completely free of charge. Launched in the summer of 2022, the Pozez JCC partners with Sunrise Association and our sister camp, Horizon Day Camp - Baltimore and are thrilled to work with our affiliates Children's National Hospital, Inova L. J. Murphy Children's Hospital, and other area pediatric medical institutions. Recognizing the extraordinary financial demands that a child's chronic illness can have on a family, Horizon Day Camps and Year-Round Programs are always provided free of charge to the families and exist ONLY through the generosity of others. Private donations/grants by foundations, businesses and very special individuals, as well as special events including Horizon/SunriseWALKS/Metro-DC, help to underwrite the costs of running the camp which is the first of its kind here in the DC area.
