About us
Mission Statement: Code of Support Foundation (COSF) provides essential and critical one-on-one assistance to struggling service members, veterans and their families (SMVF) who have the most complex needs. We are dedicated to leveraging the nation’s full spectrum of resources to ensure all members of our military, veterans and their families receive the support services they need and through their collective sacrifice have earned. Our Vision: "They Stood For Us. Let's Stand With Them." Our vision is that civilian America, military America and support organizations come together to strengthen the health of our nation, and ensure that service members, veterans and their families share in the quality of life that they have earned and that all Americans deserve. Background: The Code of Support Foundation was established in 2010 by Major General (RET) Alan B. Salisbury with the goal of bridging the growing divide of understanding and engagement between our military and civilian communities. Working with a dedicated team of retired military and civilian leaders, he developed the “Code of Support” for our troops as a parallel document to the Military “Code of Conduct” in which service-members pledge that they are prepared to give their lives in defense of our country. The Code of Support is a set of six meaningful commitments all American’s can make to give meaning to the words, “support our troops.”

Let’s talk about #CommunityPartners. 👇 #CommunityPartners are essential to our mission at #CodeofSupport. A community partner is another organization or resource we call upon when a client has a need related to their mission. We act as the “bridge” or the “connector” between clients' needs and the resources meant to serve them. It can be tricky to navigate the system of resources available, so we make it our mission to help our clients do just that! Some community partners we often work with are Wounded Warrior Project, Building Homes for Heroes, Inc., Gary Sinise Foundation, Bob Woodruff Foundation, just to name a few. We are so grateful for every community partner that helps to support our clients! 🙌 Learn more. ⬇️

April has come and gone and May is here. (already?!) Time for a monthly wrap-up! ⬇️ April was another busy month for us at #CodeofSupport. We had our annual fundraising gala, #ToastToOurTroops, which raised support for our critical programs. This will make a way for us to serve even more military and veteran clients, and we are so grateful for everyone who came to support our mission! ❤️ On the Case Coordination side, we saw 125 intakes in April, with Housing, Benefits, and Family Support being our top three service needs. Our team is actively meeting these needs by connecting clients to community parters, providing resources, and walking alongside them with peer support. Last night I got to attend the Code of Support Foundation Gala. The theme was "A Night of Honor: Leaving No Veteran Behind". With that theme in mind, I was grateful to be there to hear from so many amazing people like the SECNAV, CPT Luis Avila, and Andi Martinez. Elizabeth El-Nattar thank you for allowing me to attend and bring my TMF teammate Heather Kelly . I'm excited for our continued impact within the community. During the night, I was also very happy to see Dr. Lynda Davis in attendance (who has done so much for veterans and their experiences at VA); as well as my good friend from American Legion post 139 Thor Wold . A special shout out to Operation Deploy Your Dress as I received this dress at their DC Pop Up last month which was hosted at the Military Women's Memorial ! #veteranshelpingveterans #community #deployeddress
