At ERCZilla, we help file Employee Retention Credit claims for companies that were impacted by the pandemic - whether it be financially, logistically, etc. Most companies believe they can only qualify for the Employee Retention Credit program via revenue decline, which is where we prove that they lost a substantial amount of profit during Covid, but that is not true. There is also legal causation, which is where our expertise come in. A lot of companies have been turned away by CPA firms as CPAs are only experts in revenue decline. We have a team of both lawyers and CPAs that we work with who were former IRS employees, including one attorney who was part of the IRS’ Office of Chief Counsel. When these companies that don’t qualify via revenue decline feel defeated with nowhere else to turn, we come in and help them qualify via legal causation. Legal causation means that the business had to adjust to circumstances brought on by Covid, which can be determined by many factors as outlined on the IRS’ website. What separates ERCZilla from what I like to call “ERC mills” (who will guarantee businesses that they will qualify even if it means filing that company’s claim in a fraudulent manner) is that we will candidly tell a client that they do not qualify. We also do not blindly promise anyone $26,000/employee as many other “ERC mills” do. We make sure to go over the facts with them and explain the factors that determine how much each employee is eligible for. In fact, at the networking event, one of the gentleman I spoke with told me a lot of his friends are now being audited by the IRS for questionable ERC claims, and as I explained to him, it is because they did not work with the right company or people. We pride ourselves in having filed thousands of claims without a single audit as we do not file any claims that do not properly qualify. We are here to assist businesses - especially those businesses that were told they do not qualify via the revenue decline test - who would like to work with a quality company to see if they qualify for the Employee Retention Credit.
