Thompson Hospitality is a full-service restaurant, contract food service, and facilities management company. It is the largest minority-owned food service company in the U.S., and the 9th-largest overall, as ranked by Food Management magazine. In addition to owning and operating full-service restaurants, Thompson Hospitality proudly provides food and/or facilities management services to 25 of the Nation’s Historically-Black Colleges and Universities. Additionally, in partnership with the world’s largest food service provider, Compass Group, Thompson Hospitality provides food and facilities management services in the Corporate Services, K-12 feeding, Higher Education, and Healthcare sectors. Together, Compass and Thompson Hospitality serve more than 180 clients, with a managed volume in excess of $2B. The University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business (Charlottesville campus), and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business are just two of the clients that FLIK Hospitality and Thompson Hospitality serve jointly. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Thompson Hospitality owns and operates several restaurants, across many types of cuisine: Matchbox Pizza and Bistro, Big Buns Burgers, Austin Grill (“Tex-Mex” cuisine), Milk & Honey, American Tap Room (classic American fare), Maker’s Union, The Ridley, YOT, Canyon to name just a few. While most of these restaurants are in the greater Washington Metropolitan area, the Company also operate restaurants in Florida. “Small-box” versions of these concepts are available in our contract accounts, as well as in non-traditional venues, such as airports.
